South Florida Weddings

Here are a few "sneak peek" images from the South Florida (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach) weddings I worked on in the last few weeks:
Please keep in mind that these were all taken with a cellphone. I am still awaiting the images from the photographers but that usually takes a few weeks and sometimes even months!! Looking forward to seeing them!! They were all wonderful to work with. Stay tuned.

Fashion Shoot (Prom Makeup?)

So yesterday I had a photoshoot with photographer Daniel Sedano and model Leah. We had so much fun and managed to get 5 looks out of it. The hair was changed each time and the makeup was gradually transformed into a glamour queen. Leah is actually very young and was telling me she was just going into her Senior year. How exciting! She definately has the look and is very sweet. Her father was just as nice and I thoroughly enjoyed working with them all.

When Leah mentioned school, it got me to thinking of prom makeup and hair. Prom season is quickly upon us and I have already gotten a couple of calls from a few young ladies looking to look their very best and get the luxury treatment on their prom night. In the last week alone I received about 6 calls in my area for prom makeup and hair in the South Florida area(Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Miramar, Pembroke Pines). One of the main questions I get is, "Will airbrush makeup cover my marks?" and the answer is, "Yes".

In any case, here are a few images of the "very sweet" Leah from yesterday's shoot taken with the Iphone (pro images to follow shortly):

4 WAYS TO MAKE SURE YOUR WEDDING MAKEUP ARTIST IS HYGIENIC{SOUTH FLORIDA WEDDING MAKEUP ARTIST}

The best way to know for sure if your makeup artist of choice is hygienic is truly only by observing. Many artists will tell you they are hygienic but saying and actually doing are two very different things. Once you have picked the artist you are going to go with, call for your trial. This trial is not only for them to get to know you and show you how beautiful you are going to look but also an opportunity for you to see "how" they work. A special event makeup artist not only has to be fast and accurate, they also need to be "clean". Here are a few things to keep in mind during your trial:
1. During your trial with your chosen makeup artist, the first thing to do is look at the obvious. Does your artist have clean hands and nails? If her nails are super long, beware. Many "things" can hide out under there just waiting to land on your precious face. Perhaps her nails are at an approving length, well then are they clean? This should be a red flag for you as well.
2. Is his/her kit organized and clean? This should speak for itself frankly. If the kit they have invested tons of money into is not kept sanitary, you can bet your bottom dollar they have little regard for keeping germs from your face and the items in their kit.
3. Another big one to look out for is: Do they use hand sanitizer before touching your face? Once again, this should be a red flag for you if they don't. Think about it, where have their hands been prior to meeting with you? God only knows!
4. And lastly, but certainly not leastly; do they have clean brushes? Are they cleaning their brushes in-between clients? Do they use disposable lip brushes and mascara wands? If not, are they spraying their mascara wands and lip brushes with a disinfectant of some sort before placing them on your face? All things to keep in mind and watch out for.

I hope this helps you make a better and informed decision when choosing your wedding makeup artist. Remember, there are many artists who can do amazing work but that is not the only thing that should be important to you. If the artist does not live up to your expectations, do not be afraid to stop the trial and ask for them to either re-schedule or to simply clean their hands. The choice is yours but remember, if you look for these things they will probably be a good indicator as to how your experience will be on the day of your wedding.

Best wishes and I hope all your makeup dreams come true!

MAKEUP LESSONS(Wedding & Special Events Makeup Artist in South Florida)

Okay, so I haven't been on blogging in a bit due to the holiday craziness...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! by the way...plus, been getting a lot of calls for makeup lessons. Perhaps it is on many a girl's to do list for 2012 but we haven't hit the middle of January and I received tons of calls for classes and gave 2 personal classes already. The New Year is well on it's way! I have my own new year resolutions of course. I actually have a New Year's day ritual for myself and I create all of my "to do's" for that year in 7 areas of my life (Spiritual, Personal, Family, Business, Financial, Health, Education). I love doing this because it keeps me focused for the year and it helps me to build myself into the person I want to be. We are always growing and I for one do not want to be stagnant. In my business particularly, I need to be on top of my game! In any case, you should definately try it and see how it works for you! Plus, it is great fun when you can start to cross things off your list and see what you have accomplished. Oh yeah, and if you are in the Fort Lauderdale or Miami areas of South Florida and looking for a makeup lesson...holla at your girl!! ;) Stay "beyou"tiful, Natasha xoxo
