The best way to know for sure if your makeup artist of choice is hygienic is truly only by observing. Many artists will tell you they are hygienic but saying and actually doing are two very different things. Once you have picked the artist you are going to go with, call for your trial. This trial is not only for them to get to know you and show you how beautiful you are going to look but also an opportunity for you to see "how" they work. A special event makeup artist not only has to be fast and accurate, they also need to be "clean". Here are a few things to keep in mind during your trial:
1. During your trial with your chosen makeup artist, the first thing to do is look at the obvious. Does your artist have clean hands and nails? If her nails are super long, beware. Many "things" can hide out under there just waiting to land on your precious face. Perhaps her nails are at an approving length, well then are they clean? This should be a red flag for you as well.
2. Is his/her kit organized and clean? This should speak for itself frankly. If the kit they have invested tons of money into is not kept sanitary, you can bet your bottom dollar they have little regard for keeping germs from your face and the items in their kit.
3. Another big one to look out for is: Do they use hand sanitizer before touching your face? Once again, this should be a red flag for you if they don't. Think about it, where have their hands been prior to meeting with you? God only knows!
4. And lastly, but certainly not leastly; do they have clean brushes? Are they cleaning their brushes in-between clients? Do they use disposable lip brushes and mascara wands? If not, are they spraying their mascara wands and lip brushes with a disinfectant of some sort before placing them on your face? All things to keep in mind and watch out for.
I hope this helps you make a better and informed decision when choosing your wedding makeup artist. Remember, there are many artists who can do amazing work but that is not the only thing that should be important to you. If the artist does not live up to your expectations, do not be afraid to stop the trial and ask for them to either re-schedule or to simply clean their hands. The choice is yours but remember, if you look for these things they will probably be a good indicator as to how your experience will be on the day of your wedding.
Best wishes and I hope all your makeup dreams come true!

MAKEUP LESSONS(Wedding & Special Events Makeup Artist in South Florida)
Okay, so I haven't been on blogging in a bit due to the holiday craziness...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! by the way...plus, been getting a lot of calls for makeup lessons. Perhaps it is on many a girl's to do list for 2012 but we haven't hit the middle of January and I received tons of calls for classes and gave 2 personal classes already. The New Year is well on it's way! I have my own new year resolutions of course. I actually have a New Year's day ritual for myself and I create all of my "to do's" for that year in 7 areas of my life (Spiritual, Personal, Family, Business, Financial, Health, Education). I love doing this because it keeps me focused for the year and it helps me to build myself into the person I want to be. We are always growing and I for one do not want to be stagnant. In my business particularly, I need to be on top of my game! In any case, you should definately try it and see how it works for you! Plus, it is great fun when you can start to cross things off your list and see what you have accomplished. Oh yeah, and if you are in the Fort Lauderdale or Miami areas of South Florida and looking for a makeup lesson...holla at your girl!! ;) Stay "beyou"tiful, Natasha xoxo
