The best way to know for sure if your makeup artist of choice is hygienic is truly only by observing. Many artists will tell you they are hygienic but saying and actually doing are two very different things. Once you have picked the artist you are going to go with, call for your trial. This trial is not only for them to get to know you and show you how beautiful you are going to look but also an opportunity for you to see "how" they work. A special event makeup artist not only has to be fast and accurate, they also need to be "clean". Here are a few things to keep in mind during your trial:
1. During your trial with your chosen makeup artist, the first thing to do is look at the obvious. Does your artist have clean hands and nails? If her nails are super long, beware. Many "things" can hide out under there just waiting to land on your precious face. Perhaps her nails are at an approving length, well then are they clean? This should be a red flag for you as well.
2. Is his/her kit organized and clean? This should speak for itself frankly. If the kit they have invested tons of money into is not kept sanitary, you can bet your bottom dollar they have little regard for keeping germs from your face and the items in their kit.
3. Another big one to look out for is: Do they use hand sanitizer before touching your face? Once again, this should be a red flag for you if they don't. Think about it, where have their hands been prior to meeting with you? God only knows!
4. And lastly, but certainly not leastly; do they have clean brushes? Are they cleaning their brushes in-between clients? Do they use disposable lip brushes and mascara wands? If not, are they spraying their mascara wands and lip brushes with a disinfectant of some sort before placing them on your face? All things to keep in mind and watch out for.
I hope this helps you make a better and informed decision when choosing your wedding makeup artist. Remember, there are many artists who can do amazing work but that is not the only thing that should be important to you. If the artist does not live up to your expectations, do not be afraid to stop the trial and ask for them to either re-schedule or to simply clean their hands. The choice is yours but remember, if you look for these things they will probably be a good indicator as to how your experience will be on the day of your wedding.
Best wishes and I hope all your makeup dreams come true!

MAKEUP LESSONS(Wedding & Special Events Makeup Artist in South Florida)
Okay, so I haven't been on blogging in a bit due to the holiday craziness...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! by the way...plus, been getting a lot of calls for makeup lessons. Perhaps it is on many a girl's to do list for 2012 but we haven't hit the middle of January and I received tons of calls for classes and gave 2 personal classes already. The New Year is well on it's way! I have my own new year resolutions of course. I actually have a New Year's day ritual for myself and I create all of my "to do's" for that year in 7 areas of my life (Spiritual, Personal, Family, Business, Financial, Health, Education). I love doing this because it keeps me focused for the year and it helps me to build myself into the person I want to be. We are always growing and I for one do not want to be stagnant. In my business particularly, I need to be on top of my game! In any case, you should definately try it and see how it works for you! Plus, it is great fun when you can start to cross things off your list and see what you have accomplished. Oh yeah, and if you are in the Fort Lauderdale or Miami areas of South Florida and looking for a makeup lesson...holla at your girl!! ;) Stay "beyou"tiful, Natasha xoxo

Tousled & Wavy Bob (Wedding & Special Events Makeup Artist in Miami/Fort Lauderdale Area)

I happened to be in style once again but this time accidentally! How you may ask? Well, due to all of my hair coloring, relaxing and use of heat products mixed with a little stress....and voila, my hair became extremely dry and fell out!! It came to the point that I had to go to the hairdresser and get a "HUGE" trim....practically 3 inches to be exact! I became a smidge depressed because I was so attached to my hair. In the process, I learned to embrace my looks and started to enhance the features I liked. My eyes and lips and oh yeah,...my cheekbones aren't that bad either...so I am finally happy..with my tousled wavy hair...which happened accidentally on purpose. See everything happens for a reason. I am in style without even really trying. The lesson in this, love where you are in your hair process and embrace the good. Enhance the positive!

Wedding & Special Events Makeup Artist in Miami and Fort Lauderdale(Adrian De Moura's makeup from The Real Housewives of Miami)
This is from a gig I had working with NuvoTv (formerly known as SiTV) for the marketing for a television show called Operation Osmin. It was actually back in May of 2011 but I found this pic in my archives and realized I never posted it! In any case, Adrian De Moura was one of the recruits on the show. The Operation Osmin show is a program that has a psychotic trainer named Osmin Hernandez that basically puts 10 out-of-shape recruits through hell for 30 days with hardcore training, constant criticism, and a diet of fish, salad and water. I still am baffled as to why the beautiful and very slim De Moura was on the show to begin with. Apparently she wanted to tone up...and that I can say, was successful, considering how toned she appears to be. Hmmmm, I was considering going on the show myself, what do you think?? I like fish, salad and water. Lol

Miami and Fort Lauderdale Wedding and Special Event Makeup Artist {Using Primer}
Honestly, I could not do a face for a South Florida bride or any special event without my handy dandy primer! It is like magic actually. My life as a makeup artist rides on the fact that I am a professional and can create a long lasting and beautiful makeup look for each and every one of my clients. In fact, I think I would be out of business otherwise. So how do I make the foundation last and last and last you may ask? Simply put, the primer. The Motives Perfecting Face Primer is oil free, super duper hydrating and ultimately creates a smooth canvas. In essence, it evens out the skin tone and actually deflects imperfections. Who would not want that?? Do you use primer? How has your life changed since you started using primer?? Do tell.
