I happened to be in style once again but this time accidentally! How you may ask? Well, due to all of my hair coloring, relaxing and use of heat products mixed with a little stress....and voila, my hair became extremely dry and fell out!! It came to the point that I had to go to the hairdresser and get a "HUGE" trim....practically 3 inches to be exact! I became a smidge depressed because I was so attached to my hair. In the process, I learned to embrace my looks and started to enhance the features I liked. My eyes and lips and oh yeah,...my cheekbones aren't that bad either...so I am finally happy..with my tousled wavy hair...which happened accidentally on purpose. See everything happens for a reason. I am in style without even really trying. The lesson in this, love where you are in your hair process and embrace the good. Enhance the positive!

Wedding & Special Events Makeup Artist in Miami and Fort Lauderdale(Adrian De Moura's makeup from The Real Housewives of Miami)
This is from a gig I had working with NuvoTv (formerly known as SiTV) for the marketing for a television show called Operation Osmin. It was actually back in May of 2011 but I found this pic in my archives and realized I never posted it! In any case, Adrian De Moura was one of the recruits on the show. The Operation Osmin show is a program that has a psychotic trainer named Osmin Hernandez that basically puts 10 out-of-shape recruits through hell for 30 days with hardcore training, constant criticism, and a diet of fish, salad and water. I still am baffled as to why the beautiful and very slim De Moura was on the show to begin with. Apparently she wanted to tone up...and that I can say, was successful, considering how toned she appears to be. Hmmmm, I was considering going on the show myself, what do you think?? I like fish, salad and water. Lol

Well, here it is the beautiful vintage inspired wedding dress Bella wore in the newly released movie just last week! Hey, how did they do that?? Wait...was this planned?? In any case, if you plan on getting married anytime soon; this dress is a very sexy vintage style dress done in a modern way. Joy!! The satin dress features lace-covered long sleeves, a V-neck, cut-out illusion back with a Chantilly-inspired lace appliqué trim, fabric-covered buttons down the back, and a chapel train. Find the gown, available in ivory and white and sizes 0 to 18 and 16W to 30W, for $799 (visit alfredangelo.com for store locations). Affordable and beautiful....can you ask for anything more??

Miami and Fort Lauderdale Wedding and Special Event Makeup Artist {Using Primer}
Honestly, I could not do a face for a South Florida bride or any special event without my handy dandy primer! It is like magic actually. My life as a makeup artist rides on the fact that I am a professional and can create a long lasting and beautiful makeup look for each and every one of my clients. In fact, I think I would be out of business otherwise. So how do I make the foundation last and last and last you may ask? Simply put, the primer. The Motives Perfecting Face Primer is oil free, super duper hydrating and ultimately creates a smooth canvas. In essence, it evens out the skin tone and actually deflects imperfections. Who would not want that?? Do you use primer? How has your life changed since you started using primer?? Do tell.

Miami-Fort Lauderdale Wedding Makeup Artist {CAT EYE}
They say a picture is worth a thousand words but the only word I can think of is "WOW!!!" This look can easily be toned down or up for a beautiful South Florida wedding. The "cat eye" has always had that sexy demure connotation. It can be achieved with the Motives liquid eyeliner. You can modify the look by either creating a thicker or thinner perfect line with the amazing brush on this ah-mah-zing eyeliner. (check out my site:TheBloomingBeauty.com and click the Motives Cosmetics link to order your own) The lips are a beautiful peachy neutral tone which is matching the neutral nail....although it would look fabulous with the infamous french manicure brides tend to prefer. Of course, a beautiful updo would complement the whole look and really "bridafy" it (is that a word??). In any case, I do not think your fiance would be mad at you if you slowly approached him walking down the aisle sporting this look!!

Jennifer Love Hewitt - 20 Beautiful Bridal Hairstyles - InStyle Weddings - Celebrity - InStyle
(CLICK LINK TO SEE JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT AT HER BEST!!!)
Let's face it, Jennifer Love Hewitt is the picture of perfection in this pic. My South Florida brides would benefit from this look in every sense of the word. This makeup and hair can last and hold up to the humidity of the Florida weather. The hairstyle is for the statement bride who wants to "marry" (get it??) both her classy and sexy style. Strategically added hair pieces can give the hair a beautiful, messy fun look...while still keeping things young and unstuffy (so to speak). As for the makeup, simply gorgeous!! Very natural with touches of subtle color to give the skin life. The eyes have a wash of bronze shimmer and are lined with a cream colored eyeliner to make the eyes look open and innocent (great technique for small eyes). However, the lashes create that subtle sex appeal that every bride wants on her big day! I think she looks ah-mah-zing!! A quick squirt of Motives Ten Years Younger http://motivescosmetics.marketamerica.com/index.cfm?action=shopping.csProductDetail&prodID=3077735 (which I use on a daily basis) will set the makeup and keep lines at bay. Loooove it!!

PROM MAKEUP
I remember when I went to my prom. back in....muffle muffle...lol. I had the best time although some parts are a blur. It was a few years ago you know! What I do remember is being with my friends and feeling so excited to be with my boyfriend of 4 years. I remember my dress...bright red and the matching shoes...and the limousine...and the music and all the pictures!! Lots and lots of pictures!!! Pictures that will be revealed on Facebook and anywhere else people can post them...How do you want people to remember you?
I have always been blessed with the ability to apply makeup so my makeup looked good. I cannot vouch the same for all the girls at the prom. Some of them looked like they were struggling quite a bit and some didn't even bother. Can you imagine?!?! Not me. I think you would want to look your very best on one of the most important days of your life. Right?!? Prom is a day that marks growth and makes a statement. You are becoming a young adult and need to look as such.
I unforutnately did not have access to airbrush makeup. In fact, I don't even think it existed yet (and if it did I didn't know about it) but if it had...I would've wanted it. Airbrush makeup can give your skin that long lasting, fresh, dewy, natural and perfect look! Without looking like you have any makeup on. Plus, it doesn't transfer onto clothing. Sounds great huh? Take a look at my event site: http://www.thebloomingbeauty.com/ for a breakdown explanation of the differences between airbrush makeup and traditional makeup. Both are awesome but they are different. It's kind of like the difference between a Range Rover and an Escalade. Both are really nice but which would you rather drive?
If you live in the Hollywood/Pembroke Pines/Miramar areas and need a makeup artist for your prom, please feel free to contact me.
May all your makeup wishes come true!

CRAZY BUSY WEEK!
So Friday has finally come...thank you Jesus! Here is a small recap of my week.
On Monday I had a consultation with a bride over the phone. She called me from New York. She plans on getting married in October and visiting Florida in June, so I won't be able to give her a trial until then. However, she booked me already and we are chatting back and forth via email about her makeup dreams for her big day.
On Tuesday I had a half day gig with Multimedia. It was a short and sweet job. One talent makeup and hair. Nothing fancy because it was for a public service announcement for the Army Corps.
Here is an image taken once again with my Vibrant cellphone:
It was shot inside a small office inside the building and I had to squeeze past the camera every time I had to touch her up. Not an easy task when you happen to have a...ummmm errr curvaceous bottom...lol All in all it was all good.
Than in the afternoon I had to rush over to a photoshoot for Jossie Cordoba's new cd about to drop. It was very last minute notice. They contacted me that morning and I went over as soon as my morning gig was over. It was supposed to be only makeup but somehow turned into hair also and styling. Something happened with her hair appointment and I did my best considering I wasn't completely prepared. Jossie is a character and very boisterious! We had a good time.

In the midst of all this I received a call from my son's school that he had a fever! Thank God grandpa was able to help out and I have been home for the rest of the week caring for my little munchkin. He is feeling much better and the fever has broken.
Osmin
Here is Osmin....he is a really nice guy but I presume a tough trainer because these people have all lost a lot of weight in a short amount of time. If you see the middle picture on the bottom you can see one of the contestants doing squats with him on her back!! And she is smiling!! Kudos to her...I think that is pretty cool and looking forward to seeing what else he did to these poor people to help them lose the inches and pounds! Stay tuned..starting on July 4th NuvoTV a cable tv channel.
Operation Osmin images...early surprise from Nuvo TV
The wonderful people at SiTV gave me a sample of some of my work to display today. I am so excited to be able to share it with you. I expect to get a reel of the commercials in the next few months to come since the actual show ("Operation Osmin") actually airs on July 4th on SiTV, soon to be NuvoTV. Watch for it... I think it is going to be a really good show!

MARKETING FOR "OPERATION OSMIN" TV SHOW WITH SiTV
I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT I WORKED WITH SITV (SOON TO BE NUVOTV) ON THE MARKETING FOR A NEW CABLE TV SHOW. BASICALLY WE DID A BUNCH OF PHOTOSHOOTS, COMMERCIALS AND INTERVIEWS ALL IN ONE WEEKEND! IT WAS EXHAUSTING! I WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE AN ASSISTANT BUT MY ASSISTANT (WHOM I NEVER WORKED WITH BEFORE) MESSED ME UP AND DECIDED HER LIFE WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE COMMITMENT SHE MADE TO ME. I KNOW THAT IS BEING HARSH BUT BASICALLY I ENDED UP DOING THE JOB BY MYSELF!!! THE 2 HOSTS AND THE 8 CONTESTANTS ON THE 1ST DAY AND THE 2ND DAY WAS ONLY THE 2 HOSTS BUT IT WAS OUTSIDE HALF THE DAY AND IN A BOXING GYM FOR THE REST. JUST HOT AND SWEATY AND DIRTY...UGH!!! ALL IN ALL, I HAD A BLAST THOUGH. I LOVE MY SITV PEOPLE!
THE SHOW BACKGROUND: Osmin is a personal trainer and in amazing condition. Not an ounce of body fat. He teaches his clients how to use "the world" as their gym. So basically they are using the outdoor elements as their gym. He promises that they will lose a ton of weight in like 30 days and they eat only fish, salad and drink only water! I would lose weight too if that is all I ate! In any case, I don't want to reveal too much information so you will have to stay tuned.
FIRST DAY OF SHOOT:
Gretchen and Osmin on set (green screen) for a commercial
Gretchen in one of her outfits for her interview. I darkened her eyes a smidge, brighter cheeks and glossier lips....you can't see it with my phone, but she has a beautiful shimmer on her skin. So beautiful! She just signed with a big modeling agency. I think Elite if my memory serves me well. I am sure she will do well.
Adriana DeMoura and I, she is also on "Housewives of Miami". She is so teeny weeny! She loved her makeup and said she wanted to keep it on for a charity function she was going to later that night! Yay!!
Her eyes were a little red because we were all sooo tired but she looked beautiful. I can't wait to get the images from the photographer who took the pics. Please keep in mind these images were all taken with my cell phone.
The second day of shooting:
Osmin, preparing for his lines on Miami Beach
She barely had any makeup on here and still looks so beautiful...isn't it sickening! Right after I took this pic. she reached for my phone to see the image and accidentally knocked my phone right out of my hand into the sand which then was covered entirely by water because the tide came in!!! OMG...it was like watching it in slow motion...I think we both screamed "Noooo" but good news...the skin(cover) I had on my phone must have kept the water from getting into my phone because it is fine!! Amazingly!! Thank God!!
All in all, it was a great 2 days!

UPDATE FOR FUNKSHION FASHION WEEK 2011
Hello there!!
I have to apologize and admit that I haven't been able to update my blog on a regular for two reasons:
1. I forgot my password (which is a sign that I don't blog a lot!!!)
2. I have been soooo dang on busy that I was just too tired to gather any of my thoughts...and than when I would say to myself, "You have to blog today Natasha!" I would end up getting another gig!!! Which would put me back even more!!! Ahhhh!!! I apologize and will make it a point to stick with it...I promise...so without further ado...
on March 23rd, 24th and 26th I worked with the crew at Funkshion Fashion Week.
It was a lot of fun but a lot of work. Firstly, it was outside on the beach underneath a huge tent like building...literally on the sand!!! Let's just say...my poor Zuca makeup bag is still spewing out sand everywhere!!
I actually added some images previously already of this event but the other day I received this very nice email from one of the models I worked with at the shows(so sweet)
Tasha was one of the many models I worked with at Funksion Fashion Week. It was hot and "sandy" but well worth the contacts I made and the wonderful experience.

Hey Natasha!
It was a pleasure to meet you this year at Funkshion. Thanks for a great job on my makeup. Attached are some runway shots a photog sent me.
Hope we get to work together again in the very near future!

MAKEUP FOR MIAMI FUNKSION FASHION WEEK 2011
Just a quick little update...so very tired today and need to take a nap before I head back into Miami for Funksion Fashion Week 2011.
Yesterday March 23rd kicked off the shows for Funkshion Fashion Week. It is on 8th and Ocean and it was smack dab in the middle of the street, sand and water!! Tons of people everywhere, hot sun and beautiful people!! I had tons of fun but it was crazy hectic.
There were 2 shows by Richie Rich:
Villionaire and Sexxy Pop
I will discuss the looks at a later date but I just wanted to keep you updated.
Both Royce and Suzy from Basketball Wives were in the show as well, so that was fun!! They were very nice. (I have a story about that so stay tuned)
Enjoy the images!

ORANGE
If there is one thing I will be rockin' this Spring is orange! I have always thought this shade looks good on almost everyone...peaches, corals and just plain 'ole ORANGE!!! Gotta love it!! You can spice up your wardrobe with orange pieces...with a blouse, a shoe...yes, a shoe...so chic, with crisp white and beige pieces to offset it...be careful though-wearing a bright orange with black can look a little HALLOWEENY!!
Wearing a beautiful coral or orange shade of lipstick or gloss is another way to make things pop simply. Add it to your daily makeup regimen...for work wear a coral and for night...ORANGE!! With a little bronzer to warm up your skin as well is key...just coming off of winter, most of us have pasty skin right about now. The one thing to keep in mind is to have fun and remember it's only makeup....YOU CAN ALWAYS WASH IT OFF!!

AIRBRUSH MAKEUP FOR YOUR WEDDING
As you all may know, airbrush makeup is the number one choice for brides. I probably would say 75% of my brides request airbrush makeup and the rest are either unfamiliar with it or just don't care. The best way to see if you like airbrush makeup is to request a trial/consultation with a wedding makeup artist in your area. This way you can see the wear of the formula on your skin. Some foundations (in my opinion) work better than others. For example, I love OCC airbrush makeup because it really looks like skin. On the other hand, Kett is used by many but not my fave airbrush makeup for many skintypes. Both are waterbased but for some reason both do not wear the same. I usually reach for the OCC before the Kett. However, recently I tried Dinair and really enjoyed it.My first experience with Dinair a few years back did not go so well. I found it to be very drying. It literally fell into every crack and pore! For people who really like the dewy look than Temptu (it contains silicone) may be the answer.
If all of this is making your head ache remember you really shouldn't be worrying about this anyway. This is the job of the makeup artist you hire. Just remember to request a trial from an experienced makeup artist and see for yourself. Go to my site at http://www.thebloomingbeauty.com/ and click on my About Us page. There you will get some information on the differences between airbrush makeup and traditional makeup.
I actually took a mobile photo of myself in the Dinair airbrush makeup. I wasn't going anywhere in particular but the girl at my local supermarket had to let me know how gorgeous my skin looked! You let me know what you think. Just try to focus on my skin not my big 'ole head!
My foundation and blush have been airbrushed on and lasted all day! I also used Moist and Dewey (a moisturizer by Dinair) over the whole application which gives the skin a satin finish. Without the Moist & Dewey the makeup can look very dry. Not very nice! Here is the image of me..not the best image but you get the gist right?!?

MAKEUP FOR GUISE MAGAZINE
Last Friday, February 4th at Aperture Professional Studios in Miami; I had the pleasure of working with some amazing people. Guise Magazine is doing a feature on Aleksandar Sale Stojanaovic for their first issue releasing in March 2011. He is the owner of Miami based 3B Productions, which produces FUNKSHION Fashion Week in Miami. Funkshion launched in 1999 and features designers from Europe, the U.S. and also Latin America.
Although very handsome, I didn't take a pic. of Sale but I have included a sneak peak shot of the model (Nikki D.) that will be featured in the magazine with him. Nikki D. is in the makeup chair mid prep. taken with my Samsung Vibrant cellphone. She and I hit it off right from the beginning and were giggling throughout the whole day. She is such a sweetheart. I love my phone by the way because it produces images like this...gotta love it! I should have the actual shots from the shoot soon from the fantastic and amazing photographer, Ben Shaul. Besides his infectious energy, he is literally like a breath of fresh air!
The magazine is released in March and will be available on a quarterly basis (can't wait to see it) and I am pretty gosh darn excited! So without further ado...here is Nikki D. (keep in mind, it was taken with my phone!!!)

TEA TREE OIL
Anyone who knows me will tell you that I try to reach for a natural remedy before a drug store product. I think the main reason is because I have always been so sensitive. Growing up I would get very bad rashes and had vicious allergies that would wreak havoc on my skin, eyes and overall mood. Let's just say it wasn't fun or pretty.
In any case, as I got older ( and wiser) I started to find natural remedies for my many ailments. I have been told by many that my skin is very smooth and have been mistaken for someone 10 years my junior...no, I am not tootin' my own horn but hey, I must be doing something right! Right?
One particular product I tend to come back to time and time again is Tea Tree Oil (I purchase mine from here vitacost.com. It is considered a natural antibacterial disinfectant and I happen to be partial to the smell. Call me weird because it does have an interesting smell but I rather enjoy it...the taste however is not my favorite. It has been used for hundreds of years originally by the aborigine tribes because of its many medicinal benefits.
Tea tree oil can be used on acne, great for fungal and bacterial skin ailments, blisters, rashes, wounds...you can even use it as a mouthwash. It can also be used by the whole family which is an added bonus. You don't have to worry about using it on the babies or kiddies. Just remember to cut it with water or olive oil if you are using a pure version. Sometimes you can buy it already mixed with Vitamin E. I could go on and on.
I wouldn't necessarily whip it out and put it on any of my clients during a gig or anything like that because of its strong scent. Mainly because I wouldn't want to offend anyone but like I said I have learned to appreciate the smell....and so has my skin ( and body for that matter).
Stay "BE YOU"tiful!

JANUARY 2011 BRIDE
Bride: Holly
Location: Atlantic Hotel
Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Holly is a very busy woman. We didn't get to have a trial due to her job and her traveling and the time frame we were working with....she called me approximately 2 weeks prior to the wedding ( I was referred by her hairdresser). No worries for me. I am a professional of course. Thank God for the computer! She emailed me some images of how she would like to look. She happens to favor the sexy glamour look. I asked her a few pertinent questions and before you know it....VOILA!! Meet Holly!!
